Gelukkige verjaardag Otis!

Nine months ago, Mama and Papa found out the great news: Liene is on her way! Mama and Papa started looking for the perfect birth announcement card to share the news .... and they actually found it two years ago at our booth at F.A.C.T.S. They decide to visit our home to brainstorm and tell us about their plans: they decide to go for a RPG-card with an illustration from our website which will be slightly adjusted to match the format of the card. Ofcourse Big Sister also has a part to play: she makes a cameo appearance on the inside of the card, holding on to her favourite cuddly toy! Mama & Papa also order matching boxes for the "suikerbonen"/sweets. The boxes will be filled with M&M's, so they order boxes in matching colours! Papa's talent as a mobile app designer, also prooves very usefull: he's got great idea's for the gamecard-lay out for the front of the card. The result is a beautifull gamecard birth announcement in co-creation to welcome Liene into the world! Mails go back and forward untill we have a card design that suits them to a T. We make a print-ready file and the waiting game begins. Mama & Papa drop by our house to pick up the boxes. On the 9th of may we recieve a textmessage from Papa: little Liene is born. She's a healthy little girl of 3.95 kg and 52 cm! We fill in the last details on the card and send the file off to the printers. As soon as we get word from the printer, we send Papa a message so he can pick up the cards at the pick-up point near where they live!
Congratulations to Mama and Papa with their beautifull little girl.
The old NES-games were stored in those typical cardboard-boxes. To finished it off, the artwork from the card was used to make a real custom vintage NES-box! A few weeks before the due-date, we delivered the boxes and the original painting to Mama & Papa. Then the waiting game began. On Valentine's day we received a message from PAPA with the last details to be filled in into the print-ready file for the birth announcement card. We sent it to the printers and followed up the next day. Mama & Papa choose the printers- delivery service and the next day the cards arrived to be sent of to friends and family!
An amazing project to work on, which resulted in a beautiful birth announcement, which suits this family to a T. And after 9 months of waiting .... the real game's a foot! This is the story of a little girl, who was about to become someone's baby sister. Mama and Papa were looking for a card to tell the adventure of this little girl. Big Sister loves playing in the garden: her favorite thing is the swing. She loves it when Mama and Papa push her on the swing, secretly wishing that one day she would swing so high that she could reach the top of the tree! She couldn't wait to meet her Baby Sister ... Mama and Papa wanted a card with the silhouette of their two girls. They wanted bright colors and lots of texture. I made a few sketches and some quick color studies, each with a different feel and atmosphere. Mama and Papa wanted the two girls to play on a nice and sunny day, so they choose the card with bright greens. Mama and Papa wanted to add a few more details to the final painting. My personal favorite: the name of the two sisters engraved on the tree trunk. The text was added to a print-ready-file and then the waiting game started. On the 6th of October we received a text from Papa: Lucie was born. And as the card reads: big adventures start small ...

Place your order though our website: https://4minigeeks.weebly.com/contact--order.html #4minigeeks #zwartopwit #Christmas #greetingcards #soskinderdorpen This idea was sparked in the car when driving back from Gent comicon. We saw some hot air balloons flying by and that's when I thought of a kind of inventor-robot developing some wings for him to fly. A bit like Da Vinci's flying machines. For the design of my inventor-hero, I looked at Da Vinci's drawings of his 'flying machines'. I didn't want a pose with both wings spread out, because I felt it might be a little too static. The wings are obviously too small for such a heavy robot, but that's something he will no doubt discover later on today! :) To give it the Da Vinci-feel, I worked out a sepia background with some 'technical' sketches in pencil as a backdrop for the main character. I also added some details to give it a bit more life.
I remembered that Da Vinci used a secret code in his research note-books, just in case they fell into the wrong hands (because some of his research was cutting edge, but sometimes flirting with what was legal or acceptabe at the time-period). I used the same secret code in this painting: I mirrored the lettering done on a computer and then copied the mirrored text by hand. If you look at the illustration in a mirror, you'll be able to read a part of the adventures of our robot-inventor :). I'm quite happy with the result. I like his goofy face, maybe he'll invent a time machine in a delorian next! :) Then make sure your newborn will grow up to be one too! We've developed a brand new concept for gamer-parents-to-be. A birth announcement card designed to look like your favourite game. Babystation, Xbaby, take your pick! We'll customize it with your little one's name and the text of your choice on the back of the card. You can also order your matching babyshower sweets (suikerbonen). We'll print the customized design as a sleeve for a real game-case which you can fill up with treats for all those who come to visit your little one! The back and the front of the sleeve are designed like a real game! On the back you see two screenshots and the usual smallprint you find on games ... but with a twist. There's also lots of room for a personalized text. You can order them with game cases, which you can fill with treats. An original way to announce the birth of your little one ... and more importantly secure a gaming future for your newborn ;).
Mama and Papa were looking for the perfect way to announce the birth of their little knight. They found the answer to their quest on our website. Mama and Papa contacted us quickly, because little Ethan was in a hurry. They choose a pick 'n mix card: a RPG birth announcement with a few adjustments to the text. We set up the file ready to go. On the 7th of june Papa contacted us to let us know their little boy decided to be born the day before. We added the last details to the text and sent the file off to the printers. Two days later Papa picked up the cards at a pick-up point near their castle. Now they could announce the official arrival of young Sir Ethan to the world!
We loved being part of the first chapter of the story of little Sir Ethan and we wish Mama, Papa and Ethan lots of "hapily ever afters"! You can be anything you want to be! :) This is a painting I worked on last week. It took a few sketches to get it right. Then a colour study and I finished the painting yesterday. It would give a different spin on the nutcracker, wouldn't it?
Congratulations to the parents of Lowie! His auntie ordered these magnets for his parents. They're ready to be sent off!
